Pa. Highway Projects to Receive $1 Billion from Stimulus

PennDOT Secretary Allen Biehler told the House Appropriations Committee last week that stimulus money flowing to Pennsylvania will total about $1 billion for roads and bridges. Committee Chairman Joseph Markosek acknowledged that while the one-time infusion is welcome, lawmakers need to address longer-term funding needs this spring, given that the transportation funding gap is at least $1.7 billion annually.
